Word on the street is that down here in Washington DC people are loving Swedish electronica band ‘Little Dragon’ and since hearing about them I am loving them too. Their groove is sharp, the lyrics are original and the melodies are intricate and unexpected. I love the use of different scales and unusual note choices, I’ve been listening to them on repeat and hearing new things each time. The vocalist Yukimi Negano has a wonderfully unique tone and it you like any of Amy Winehouse’s earlier stuff or Estelle or house/electronica music you should definitely give this band a listen, my favourite two songs are ‘Constant Surprises’ and ‘After the rain.’
